Summer has arrived in Wisconsin, and Madison is the place to be if you like your music groups in large numbers and outdoors.

I’m fortunate enough to not only live in Madison where I can take in all of the great events, but I also have the opportunity to play in several of them. I’ll be playing at the Isthmus Jazz Festival in two different groups – the Ben Ferris Octet, and the Neophonic Jazz Orchestra – as well as playing Jazz at Five for the first time with the Neophonic.

If you’re new to Madison, take it all in. You’d be hard pressed to find another town with a summer music scene like this one, especially considering that it’s almost all free. If you’re a Madison lifer and haven’t checked out these events, it’s time to try something new.
