A bit about my experience as a technology professional…

I have over eight years’ experience as a technology professional. I have experience both as a business analyst, an independent IT consultant and web developer, and an HL7 healthcare EDI analyst. In all situations I rely both on my work experience as well as my formal education: a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from UW-La Crosse and the Associate’s Degree in Web Software Development I am currently pursuing at Madison College.

My analyst experience includes: requirements elicitation and documentation, use case creation, test case design, and software troubleshooting. My project involvement has ranged from smaller homegrown web-based software products to full-scale installations of SAP enterprise resource planning software, and most recently HL7 healthcare EDI analysis and implementations.

While working independently, I have built or updated websites for several small businesses, artists, and musicians using a variety of technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Java, MySQL, jQuery, and the WordPress content management system. I have also acted as an advisor to the same businesses to help them make software and hardware purchasing decisions, implement Google ad campaigns, and optimize websites for search engines.

My diverse background and inherent curiosity in technology make me an ideal fit for a wide variety of circumstances. As part of a larger team I can be called upon to specialize in a role, and as part of a small team I can be relied upon to do a variety of tasks from requirements documentation to software development and troubleshooting.
